Incredible Inaugural Newcastle Business Awards

A massive thank you to all of our sponsors, partners, nominees and attendees who helped us celebrate the inaugural Newcastle Business Awards on November 26th.

Our host, Alfie Joey got the crowds laughing with some brilliant impressions, and an inspirational speech from Graham Hartley, Managing Director of our headline sponsor Siemens Power Generation Services was met by raucous applause.

The theme and tone of the awards encapsulated our vision of inspiring communities through enterprise. The event promoted the ethos and practice of businesses and the community
working together to drive social improvement whilst encouraging a more environmentally sustainable approach to growing the local economy.

#NCLBA2015

Our awards ceremony took place at the Skylight, The Beacon Newcastle’s bespoke conference and event space at the heart of the city’s West End. Guests enjoyed gourmet food with a ‘tinned’ inspiration, reflecting our focus on community and sustainability, and growing businesses in Newcastle in a positive, sustainable way that benefits the area and those living within it – in terms of skills development, opportunities, community projects and job prospects.

We were taken aback by the scale of canned and tinned food donated by our guests on the evening for our local foodbank, and your generous donations will make a real difference to the lives of individuals and families in Newcastle this winter.

Last but not least, we managed to take Twitter by storm, with #NCLBA2015 trending in North Tyneside and the hashtag being seen by 248,330 social media users, appearing 883,907 times on timelines (and counting!) So a big thanks to everyone who joined in the conversation online.

We’re already eagerly looking forward to the 2016 Newcastle Business Awards – please message us to join our mailing list if you’d like to nominate your brilliant Newcastle business next year.
